Bolton Girl Debbie Halls-Evans Wins The Taste
Despite being the nation’s favourite business and home energy price comparison service, Love Energy Savings has always been keen to support our home town. For this reason, we were ecstatic this week, to see local mum of three Debbie Halls-Evans take home the title after winning The Taste.
The show has received national acclaim due to its star studded panel of Nigella Lawson, Ludo Lefebvre and Anthony Bourdain and Debbie has wowed them all from start to finish, ending up as the deserved victor. The unique format of just one spoonful of exquisite cuisine being served to the judges really captured the imagination of the British public, it seems that our proud Boltoner seized the initiative and joined an elite panel of locals flying the flag for the town.
Delicieux Soon to Reopen In Bolton Town Centre...
Anyone from the Bolton area may well have come across Delicieux, Debbie’s delicatessen which was formerly located on Moss Bank Way and is soon to reopen in the heart of Bolton’s town centre.
In the grand final of The Taste, Debbie served up a divine langoustine toast in a canapé cook-off which was tasted and judged by Pierre Koffman, who has acted as a mentor to such chefs as Gordon Ramsay and Marco Pierre White.
She followed this up with her final three courses of the competition. The judges were treated to vanilla scallops with pea puree and pancetta, rabbit and red wine stew and a lavender apple and caramelised fig pudding, which was accompanied by a crème anglais jelly. Sampled in blind tests, the dishes were enough to secure the crown and justify months of hard work for Debbie. Big congratulations to Debbie from the Love Energy Savings team!
