British Gas has launched a “plain English” guide to its bills and contracts after a study showed that over half of small firms were baffled by jargon.
A survey of 1,000 businesses revealed that most could not explain the terms “deemed pricing”, “out of contract”, “standing charge”, “unit price” or “kilowatt hour”.
One in four said they spent too long dealing with their energy bills, contracts and pricing renewals because of the jargon used by suppliers.
British Gas has worked with the Plain English Campaign, which is based at New Mills, to produce a new guide to help businesses understand energy billing for gas and electricity.
Love Energy Savings are proud to work with British Gas Energy Suppliers and support all customers who are trying to understand their energy bills in order to gain cheaper rates.
