So Energy prices and tariffs

Residential Tariffs

Currently, So Energy’s only tariff is the 12 months fixed-rate So Alder Tariff, which attracts seasonal payments. Having a fixed rate tariff with So Energy means you will be paying one amount in the Summer months (April - September) and one in the Winter months (October - March). This payment structure is designed to more accurately reflect your usages throughout the year.

Your first Direct Debit is taken as soon as supply begins, but you are required to keep your account in credit throughout your contract. By doing this So Energy is able to buy gas and electricity at better rates meaning it is able to keep its prices competitive.

Your usage may change but, with a fixed tariff, the rates you pay for your energy will remain the same so you can budget more easily.

So Energy allows its customers to vote for the type of renewable energy the company sources. Its electricity source mix last year was a reflection of what its customers voted for.

Cancellation Policy

If you’re looking to leave So Energy, there is a £5 per fuel exit fee. If you leave within 49 days of the end of your contract you won’t be charged an exit fee even if you switch to a different supplier. You will usually be sent an email advising you when you enter this period.

Green Performance

So Energy has positioned itself as a green energy provider, with 100% of its electricity coming from renewable sources since 1st April 2016. So Energy buys its electricity based on how its customer base votes, choosing either solar, wind, hydro, biomass and tidal.
