Gazprom Prices, News & Updates
Gazprom, established in 1993, is a global energy company specialising in geological exploration and the production, processing and sales of gas.
Gazprom holds the world’s largest supply of natural gas preserves and is the only producer and exporter of liquefied natural gas in Russia. Gazprom also own the world’s largest gas transmission network at the total length of over 168 thousand kilometers.
Gazprom offers an additional service for gas called Shield business gas which provides customers with a fixed gas price; contracts are offered for between 1 and 5 years. They also offer other contract options where advisors provide a tailored quote; these are usually for larger businesses where consumption levels are over 500,000 kwh/year, and spend is over £8,000 per year.
Gazprom offers electricity too but only on a fixed price tariff, to keep things simple. Contracts are offered for 1 and 2 years only. Energy price plans are dependent on factors including usage, term of contract and the operational costs involved in managing your account.
Gazprom views its mission in reliable, efficient and balanced supply of natural gas and other energy resources. They currently export gas to over 30 countries; however, Gazprom sells more than half of overall gas produced to Russian consumers. Due to Russia's geographical location, the Gazprom has the potential to become an energy “bridge” between the European and Asian markets by supplying its own natural gas and providing gas transit services to other producers.
Their strategic goal is to establish itself as a leader among global energy companies by diversifying sales markets, ensuring reliable supplies, increasing operating efficiency and using scientific and technical potential. They are currently among Russia’s five largest oil producers as they own the largest number of power generating assets in the country. Gazprom produce 13 per cent of the global gas production, the Group is the leader among the world’s oil and gas companies and produced 487.4 billion cubic meters of gas in 2013.
Gazprom is socially responsible as they get involved in cultural, young persons and sporting projects, such as the Olympics, which sets a good example to other suppliers for supporting their local community and giving something back to the consumer.
