Gazprom, established in 1993, are a global energy company specialising in geological exploration and the production, processing and sales of gas.
Gazprom holds the world’s largest supply of natural gas reserves, owning 17% of the world's global supply. Gazprom also own the world’s largest gas transmission network at the total length of over 171.2 thousand kilometers.
You may have heard the name before due to its ongoing sponsorship of FIFA tournaments. Most notably, it will be the main sponsor for the 2018 World Cup in Russia, so you can expect to hear the name alot more frequently in the coming months and years.
Gazprom offer an additional service for gas called Shield business gas which provides customers with a fixed gas price; contracts are offered for between 1 and 5 years. They also offer other contract options where advisors provide a tailored quote; these are usually for larger businesses where consumption levels are over 500,000 kwh/year, and spend is over £8,000 per year.
Gazprom offer electricity, too, but only on a fixed price tariff, to keep things simple. Contracts are offered for one and two years only. Energy price plans are dependent on factors including usage, term of contract and the operational costs involved in managing your account.
Gazprom's mission is ensuring that there's reliable, efficient and balanced supply of natural gas and other energy resources to the world. Their strategic goal is to become a leader among global energy companies, offering a competitive alternative.
They currently export gas to over 30 countries, however, Gazprom sells more than half of the overall gas they produce to Russian consumers. Due to Russia's geographical location, Gazprom has the potential to become an energy “bridge” between the European and Asian markets by supplying its own natural gas and providing gas transit services to other producers.
They're currently among Russia’s five largest oil producers as they own the largest number of power generating assets in the country.
Gazprom are socially responsible as they get involved in cultural, young persons and sporting projects, such as the Olympics, which sets a good example to other suppliers for supporting their local community and giving something back to the consumer.
